Last night, on Real Housewives...

Did anyone else watch the b*tchfest last night, also known as the reunion show for the Real Housewives of Orange County?

Wow.

These women are just horrible - pretty much across the board. But the real highlight was Tamra vs. Gretchen. Tamra has always been out for Gretchen. Let's face it - she's jealous because Gretchen really is the hottest housewife in Orange County (or would-have-been-housewife if her poor fiance Jeff hadn't passed away).

Basically, Tamra threw Gretchen to the wolves and announced during the reunion special that during the entire time of filming, Gretchen had a secret boyfriend!

Here's the weird thing... Gretchen was totally shady in defending herself - calling this rumored BF a stalker, then an ex, then a friend, then a family friend, etc etc etc. But the weird thing is that I thought Tamra came out looking worse! The way she continued to attack Gretchen during the show, yelling out crap like the truth will set her free and rambling about moral character... BLAH! Gretchen is no good, but neither are you, Tamra.

I think the clip below should show some of the catfight (can't view it at work):

Other interesting things that came out last night:

  • Kara asked for a boob job for her graduation present (I'm sure she fits in really well at Berkeley)
  • Tamra plans to sell her recently removed boob implants on ebay
  • As I mentioned before, poor Jeff passed away this past September - and they never got married
  • Jeana still defends her crappy son
  • Jeana made Lynn cry for basically calling her dumb

Anyway, out with the old and in with the new... and as much as Simon totally creeps me out, I'm totally in for the Real Housewives of New York City.

Real Housewives... so sad!

I feel sick to my stomach after watching tonight's episode of Real Housewives of Orange County.

First - you've got Jeana... the way her sons talk to her is HORRIBLE. They should feel ashamed of themselves. I mean, I know I'm not a perfect angel with my mom but I would NEVER ever be that rude to her... especially in front of her friends (and the whole country for that matter!) Colton yells at her and her friend (although Vicki is pretty annoying) for eating ice cream, Shane yells at her for wanting to greet him at his baseball game. And Jeana allows it! She just blows it off like it's nothing and then in her interview, she defends them! "Oh, Colton just takes his job so seriously for helping me watch my diet. Shane just gets embarrassed by too much attention." WAKE UP, JEANA! And I totally agree that the boys' behavior is directly related to how their dad talks to Jeana... it's just so sad for her to have to deal with it from these yahoos as well.

And then there's Lynn and her daughter Raquel. Raquel went to a high school for "troublemakers" and graduated in '07, tried college but didn't like it, now she just lives at home doing nothing except fighting over her designer clothes with her sister, openly participating in underage drinking, waking up only so that the housekeeper can clean her room... yuck!

Hopefully seeing this show helps these spoiled brats realize what LOSERS they are and help them get their lives together. Make the most of your life and be nice to your mom!

Thoughts on last night's Real Housewives

Just some random comments on last night's season finale:

1. According to Quinn, the chemistry between her and Billy is "undeniable". But honestly - their "flirting" during the whole Roxy act with the blonde wig was one of the most awkward things I've ever seen.

2. After all the build-up, we finally get to see Lauri and George's wedding - the one with no price budget! And yes, it was very pretty with the whole flower and garden thing with the big white tent dining area. I did find it amusing to see her come down the aisle in a traditional white fairy princess-like wedding dress given that this is her third wedding, but whatever. I was also surprised by her choice of green dresses for the bridesmaids... I didn't really find the color too appealing.

3. Jo came back! She's been busy recording her album and actually had a performance coming up. With dancers!!! (It figures she had to be the kind of singer that needs dancers... from what I remember, her voice is sorta ick.) I still can't get over the similarities between her and Heidi. I think Jo's former beau is supposedly managing her music career. *And* he's a tool just like Spencer.

And that was it for this season... not sure if I'll watch the NYC version of Real Housewives. The few promos I've seen didn't look that interesting. Good concept, though.

YES!!! Mystery solved!

Hey, it's Lauri Waring! Thanks to my wonderful sister, I have now figured out who Real Housewives' Lauri reminds me of! As you can see to the left, it is the puppet (NOT muppet, which explains why my google searches were unsuccessful), Madame. I'm not sure how we know this character - but it looks like she had a talk show in the early 80s. Anyway, I'm so glad someone knew who I was talking about and that I wasn't crazy - figures it would be my sis! (We come from a weird family, I guess - heehee...)

It's so nice to have this all figured out! Ah, I can now finally watch Real Housewives in peace.

Someone please help me name that muppet!

Do I remind you of a certain muppet?OK, something on the Real Housewives of Orange County has really been bugging me lately so I thought I'd just throw it out there and see if anyone can help. One of the housewives, Lauri, is often referred to as the "hot" one, MILF if you will. And I just don't get it because to me, she looks like the roughest one out of the bunch! Sure, she has a fit body compared to the others, but her face is just bleh! Like a man in drag. (I'm sorry, but that's the best way to describe it!) And one of the college-age boys once referred to her as the most beautiful woman in the world. Really? Anyway, the thing that bugs me is that every time I see her, she reminds me of an old lady muppet but I can't really place the muppet name or where she's appeared (The Muppet Show? Sesame Street? A Muppet movie?) I've googled and can't find a picture of this muppet. It's not one of the muppets listed here. I know this is a RANDOM question, but if you have any ideas, let me know!

Dancing with the Stars came to an end tonight. I actually enjoyed all the montages (plus it helped that I watched it off my DVR so it was quick to run through). The highlight clips reminded me how much I missed and enjoyed Drew Lachey as the guest host! But I'm glad to have another dance show to look forward to for January.

As for The Hills, is it really possible that we've seen the last of Justin Bobby??? I hope so! Were you guys as pissed as I was when Audrina left with him after their blow up at Opera? I'm glad she dropped him off alone. And could Spencer be any more immature about the wedding stuff?

"You have to crash a brand new car to break it in."

These wise words were uttered during Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County (just starting their third season, by the way).

And guess what - no Jo or Slade this season! I'm a little disappointed since Jo was kind of entertaining. But Slade is annoying so I guess that's OK.

I found out some scoop here. Either Jo and Slade declined to appear because of Jo's recording commitments (yes, it's not just Heidi, but her, too) OR Bravo didn't invite them because Jo is no longer a "housewife" (which she never really was in the first place)since her and Slade broke up.

But bonus, rumor is that they may do a spin-off focusing on Jo and her musical ambitions.

Also, being a Big Ten girl, I'm not too familiar with the Cali schools, but I thought Berkeley was the smarty pants one? Apparently Jeana's daughter, Kara, is going there because she didn't get accepted to either of her top two choices, USC and UCLA. I'm worried for this SoCal girl... it's a big culture change to Berkeley.

Channel Surfing...

The Real Housewives of Orange County

If you're not familiar with this one, it's another reality show, this time on Bravo (so you know, that means it a little classier than others - haha). I think this was conceived as some hybrid of Desperate Housewives/LB/The OC, etc. So I guess Jo would be the "Gabrielle" of the show since she's the young one. Apparently she's in her mid-20's (all the other housewives are older with older kids and stuff) which really surprised me b/c I actually would have guessed Jo was in her early 30's or something. Oh well. And her on/off boyfriend Slade (seriously, it's some weird name like that) is totally creepy to me.

But in the bit of this episode that I happened to catch, Jo was getting ready to go to the annual Midsummer Night's Dream party at the Playboy mansion - how exciting! But listen to how this works - since naturally only the "elite" can attend Playboy parties, I guess you have to submit photos of yourself in your skivvies to gain an invite. And apparently Hugh normally only likes the blondes (of course) so if you're a brunette, it's even tougher to get in. Unless as Jo says, "you're really good looking" which I guess Jo must be since she's a brunette and still managed to win a lucky ticket! So off she went in the classic Playboy outfit of corset, thong, and sheer robe. What a world they live in...

Law and Order: SVU

Normally, I'm happy to see the star duo from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle - you know, good to see the underrepresented races get out there and stuff. But not this time. Last night's episode feature Kumar as a super-creepy serial rapist/murderer. Ack! He's ruined for me.
